Dhumdar Kandi Expedition

The Dhumdhar Kandi Pass trek is moderately to difficult and takes 12-14 days, depending on which route you choose. This trek will take you on an exploration trip through the beautiful topography and high altitudes of The Himalayas.

All adventure-seekers who are looking to push their limits and have a lot of fun will love the Dhumdar Kandi pass Trek. After crossing two passes, snow-draped mountains, and stunning steep valleys, this trekking expedition will take you to Yamunotri.

Dhumdhar Kandi Pass is also known locally as the “Smoky Forest” and is located at 5490M/18012Ft. It connects the holy pilgrimage sites Gangotri and Yamunotri, Uttarakhand. The pass was used as an ancient route by Gangotri and Uttarkashi villagers to reach the remote Tons valley. This trek has a unique feature: the Kalanag (Black Peak), glacier, and the glaciers from Swargorohini or Bandarpoonch that feed the two powerful rivers Bhagirathi/Yamuna. The pass lies at the base two famous peaks of Garhwal Himalayas: Kalanag (Black Peak) and Swargarohini (Swargarohini).
