Overview
Mt. Kedardom Expedition
Greatly preached as the spiritual abode of Lord Shiva – Mount Kedar Dome or Kedarnath Dome is a highly revered and worshipped place by the people of the Hindu Community. The mountain is also recorded as the place to achieve salvation and free yourself from the cycle of birth in many religious texts of the Hindu Mythology. The high dome-shaped mountain stands at a soaring altitude of 6,832 m above the ground and is the third-highest peak among the Gangotri group of mountains in Uttarakhand. The peak is only about 2km away from the famous Kedarnath temple so, during your journey to the Kedar Dome, you will reach a viewpoint from where you get to catch a surreal view of Kedarnath temple silently nestled on the sacred land of India.
The climb to Mount Kedar Peak usually takes around 24 days to complete and has also been recognized as an easy level trekking journey by the Mountaineering Department of India. Since Kedar Dome lies on the Northwest part of Uttarakhand and you will embark on a southern side of this region so, you will face fewer challenges as compared to the treacherous journey of the Eastern side. Because it has any easy level of difficulty so, you don't need any prior technical knowledge about climbing mountains.
